Founded in 1961 as State Electric in Toronto, The State Group quickly expanded to service the commercial, institutional and industrial markets, and established branch offices throughout Canada to better serve its customers. In the 1970’s, the company evolved into a diversified contracting firm performing complex, time-driven construction projects. Projects ranged from office towers, to hospitals and convention centers for its commercial customers, to sophisticated systems in the Automotive, Steel, Petrochemical, Energy and Food and Beverage Industries on the industrial side. State’s reputation continued to grow as we began to be known as the pre-eminent contractor for multi-trade services including Mechanical, Millwrighting and Structural Steel installations and are truly one of the pioneers of single source construction solutions.
